This post is especially for those wondering (as most of the people coming up to me for advise do) where you should start “changing” things in your life to improve life, to feel more comfortable, experiencing emotional stability or having a vision in your head about your goals in your life.
Where to start?
Thinking about my own experience in changing and tweaking things to improve my life, I really forgot the obvious which apperently a lot of people are suffering with. Where should I start? What topic should I address first or which habit should I install to get the results I want. I started a personal coaching practice back in 2004, to cater to the requests I got in my organizational consulting and executive coaching activities. Because people wanted more personal time in one on ones outside of the companies’ track they were enrolled in related to the project we worked on. Most of the people suffered from not really knowing a direction, or not having thought trough about the next or future steps in their life. They all wanted to change something, but they did not think about what they needed to change today to get a different, desired outcome the next day or in the near future. In a previous post about changing life, I already referred to why I am talking about improving your life and not changing your life, because we want to make sure we change things for the better…
Focus on “improve life”
So “teaching” them to get this clear picture in their head and outlining their desired outcome, made it much easier to work on the actions and next steps. Showing them their life purpose, outlining their actual goals made it much easier to focus on the planning in the “how to change” daily behavior to achieve the desired outcome or path to their defined goal to improve life. It is like driving a car, it is way easier to take the right turn, when you know which direction you need to go.

The answers are within. If you ask, you will receive your answer. Sometimes the answer does not come immediately, but trust me, give it some time. Remind yourself that you have to answer that question and at some point, during the day or night your mind will provide the answer.
You can live a life of purpose. You can live a life of passion and success! Ask, until you get your answer. And then take massive action. It is worth it, I promise.
